JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Disgusted.
That's the reaction tonight from parents finding out that an Army recruiter in Clay County is accused of having sex with an underage girl.
This is the second time someone who works for the recruiting office was arrested and accused of that in just a few months.
The recruiting battalion in Jacksonville says one of those men - Julues Wright worked out of this station - just down the street from Orange Park High School.
Parents from Orange Park say there's a lot of concern over just how safe their kids are from the people who are supposed to help keep us safe.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says Julius Wright - a recruiter for the army - met an underage girl at Clay High School. Police say after several meetups, he arranged to meet the girl off campus, then took her to his hotel room - for sex.
"I'm kind of disgusted," Courtney Mims said.
Mims is a mom who has lived in Clay County all her life.
This arrest comes just months after another man - Master Sgt. Reginald Richardson was arrested for sexual battery with an underage girl. In a police report - the victim is thought to have agreed to sex, only after Richardson kept asking. The report goes on to say there were three or four sexual encounters over several months. The army says he was a recruiter trainer - and didn't have access to kids at school.
"They're supposed to be honorable - they're supposed to be respective people," Mims said.
Mims says the arrests involving the military, and underage girls at Clay County is shocking. She says recruiters were in school when she was a student.
Something she says now - needs to be changed.
The recruiting battalion says something has been done about it. Julius wright - the man arrested this week - has been suspended from his recruiting duties. He's behind bars and charged with sex with an underage girl.
A Commander at the battalion in Jacksonville wasn't available for comment today.
