JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A pregnant woman lost her baby after she was shot on the Northside Wednesday. This update comes from the woman's family.

An argument that started Tuesday night on social media escalated when Markeisha Brooks showed up to the home of Virginia Denise Wyche around noon, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Paul.

Wyche allegedly shot Brooks in front of her house in the 9100 block of Castle Boulevard, Sgt. Paul detailed.

Brooks was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of Friday, she was listed as being in fair condition.

Brooks' family told First Coast News that she lost her baby as a result of the shooting.

Wyche appeared before a judge Thursday morning and is currently being held in the Duval County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond. Wyche is being charged with murder according to JSO.
