LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Family members of Chaquasha Aviger say the arrest is a first step toward helping them heal.

"I'm happy - it helps me feel better," said Louise Brown, Avinger's grandmother.

Lake City Police say Carlis Lindsey III surrendered at a home on Double Run Road on Sunday. The home is about a mile from where police say Avinger was stabbed, and left to die.

Brown says she wants justice served. "I want something done for killing that girl," she said.

Police say Lindsey III overdosed on pills before he surrendered, and passed out when he got to the police station to be questioned. Right now, he's in stable condition at a hospital in Gainesville.
