JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Downtown has come alive the past four days, and the reason is One Spark.
The world's first crowdfunding festival announced Saturday that the first three day's attendance was an estimated 150,000. That number equals last year's 5-day total.
Not only are people turning out in droves, they are participating. One Spark says that it is receiving approximately one vote per second on its app.
A One Spark spokesperson said the One Spark app has been running slow due to the high amount of votes, but people can still vote at voting stations.
One Spark voting concludes Sunday at 3 p.m. and the winners will be announced beginning at 5 p.m. in Hemming Plaza.
Also up are the numbers for the Skyway. Last year about 44,200 riders used the JTA transportation to get downtown. JTA recorded 42,000 passengers Friday. The last time JTA saw numbers that high was when Jacksonville hosted the Super Bowl in 2005.
