JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The perfect photobomb takes timing, skill and opportunity. Add an adorable dog and you have social media gold!
Diana Fox with the Jacksonville Humane Society, along with rescue dog, Billy, are "mutt bombing" photos around One Spark.
"Don't be surprised if we show up in the back of some of your pictures!," Diana said.
The idea behind it is that people will share the pictures on Twitter or Facebook and possibly get a picture to go viral and more people will see the rescue dogs and hopefully get interested in adoption.
"Viral is the big thing now. If you can take the right picture that goes viral from you at First Coast News to Gannett to CNN to all around the country, it really spreads the word about not euthanizing animals," explains Diana.
So we helped Diana and Billy at One Spark Thursday morning. I told people I was taking pictures for a gallery on our website. What they didn't know what Diana and Billy were ready to jump in behind them and "mutt bomb"! Each time it got the reaction Diana wanted. People laughed then wanted to pet the dog. That gave her a chance to explain "mutt bombing" and how dogs at the humane society need homes.
"Both of our dogs are rescue dogs so we are totally supportive of it," said Josh Moore after he was "mutt bombed."
Even children like Dakota, on a bike ride with her dad, loved the surprise picture with Billy!
"I think it is good that people should try adopting dogs and I love dogs so much, I think it is a good idea," Dakota said.
Best of all, Fox said it helps show a dog's personality and ease around people. So keep your eye peeled for the orange vests that say "Adopt Me" because they might be in the background of one of your One Spark photos!
