JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was critically injured after he suffered a medical episode and crashed Saturday on Interstate 295.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Steven Ashcraft, 52, was traveling south on State Road 9-A when he suffered an unknown medical condition.
Ashcraft's Ford truck left the southbound lanes and traveled into the northbound lanes in the wrong direction. Eventually the truck drove through a ditch and crashed into the tree line, according to FHP.
Ashcraft was taken to UF Health in critical condition.
According to FHP Ashcraft was wearing his seat belt and alcohol was not a factor.
