JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Officials reported that one person was sent to the hospital Friday morning after being involved in a fiery crash in San Marco just before 1:00 a.m.

Sarah Vanswearingen, 26, was driving her Chevrolet Equinox down the wrong way on the Acosta Expressway.

Vanswearingen collided with 65-year-old Bobby Jefferson 's Freightliner box truck that was headed northbound on the Acosta Expressway.

The impact of the crash caused the box truck to catch on fire. Emergency crews were able to put the fire out quickly.

Vanswearingen was transported to UF Health with minor injuries. Jefferson had no injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts during the time of the accident, however, according to the FHP report, alcohol appears to have been a factor and charges are pending against Vanswearingen.

The road was closed for several hours but at this time the road is back open.
