JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The Pegasus statue is back at the Beaches Animal Clinic in Jacksonville Beach.

The statue, which had been at the beach in some form or another since 1961, had been taken down in November due to extensive vandalism.

But after months of repairs, and some security enhancements, it's back.

"Well we raised up the pedestal which will make it much tougher to get up to," said Dr. William Daniel, owner of the Beaches Animal Clinic.

They also have added holly bushes around it for an extra buffer and another security camera.

The statue was vandalized in November.

Dr. Daniel doesn't have a final bill from the company that repaired the statue, but estimated the damage to be in the thousands of dollars.

"People have been so helpful, my clients have been making donations to help with repairs," Daniel said, adding that Lynch's Irish Pub in Jacksonville Beach is even offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
