JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An unoccupied home on Jacksonville's Westside suffered significant damage from a fire early Thursday morning.
According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, firefighters responded to the 5900 block of Davon Street around 1:30 a.m.
A two-story home was fully engulfed with a fire that JFRD said on scene originated on the second floor.
Firefighters remained on scene for several hours while receiving assistance from the State Fire Marshal.
Damage estimates have not yet been made available. No injuries were reported.
JFRD said there were belongings inside the house, but that it had been vacant following the death of someone who used to live there.
The department said its investigation is ongoing, but the possibility of this fire being arson has not been ruled out yet.
