JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating the undetermined death of a 2-year-old boy found Tuesday at a home in the 4900 block of Ashley Manor Way.
According to JSO Sgt. Shawn Coarsey, Elijah Vincenzo Smith was spending the night with his grandparents and they treated a cold he had with over-the-counter medicine.
When they went to check on the child in the morning, everything appeared to be normal. They went to check on him a second time and called Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
JFRD called the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office because the toddler was dead, Coarsey said.
An autopsy will determine the child's cause of death and no foul play is suspected at this time.
