JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two firefighters are in stable condition after being injured in a fire Thursday evening, said the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department spokesman Tom Francis.
JFRD responded to a fire in the 6500 block of Utsey Road around 8 p.m. Francis told First Coast News' partner the Florida Times-Union that flames were coming through the roof when authorities arrived.
Five people were in the home at the time of the incident. Francis told the T-U that one firefighter hurled himself out of a second-story window because all exit points were unavailable and he was under duress.
The fire was under control after 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
