FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was arrested in Palm Coast after he allegedly stole a car in Orlando and lead police on a high-speed chase down Interstate 95 on Sunday.
The car was stolen during an armed carjacking outside the Florida Mall in Orlando Wednesday night, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
St. Johns County deputies spotted the car in St. Johns County early Sunday morning. The black Toyota Corolla evaded deputies at speeds of more than 100 m.p.h. south on I-95, according to FCSO.
The car entered Flagler County just before 4 a.m. and exited at Palm Coast Parkway where Flagler deputies had set-up stop-sticks. The driver avoided the stop-sticks, but could not avoid crashing into three palm trees as he tried to cross Palm Coast Parkway to get back onto I-95.
The driver, identified as 24-year-old Dyson Anthony Graham, jumped out of the Corolla and left an unidentified female, teenage passenger, in the car. Graham ran from police through the woods and hid under a nearby Golden Corral restaurant dumpster. A Flagler K-9 tracked him down and bit him several times before he was taken into custody.
Graham has been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm and resisting arrest without violence. Additional charges are pending by the SJSO.
The teenager was taken into custody and charged with possession of stolen property. Deputies also learned that the girl was reported missing from Hillsborough County.
