JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it responded to the child's mother's home on the 9600 block of Baymeadows Road Saturday to find a 2-year-old who went into cardiac arrest.

There are several apartment divisions in the area, all a part of The Village of Baymeadows.

First Coast News spoke with the child's aunt over the phone today and she said the two-year-old has passed away.

The family identifies the child as Kylie Burress. They are calling the incident a tragic accident. Her paternal aunt told me that at this time the child's father and the family did not want to speak on camera.

According to our partner the Times-Union, investigators were questioning the child's mother and the mother's boyfriend Saturday afternoon.

The child was transported to Wolfson in critical condition Saturday, but according to the family, she passed away today.

FCN contacted Wolfson Children's Hospital and we were referred to the medical examiner's office.

At this time police are investigating the incident as foul play.

DCF is also involved in the investigation.
