JACKSONVILLE Fla. - A man in his twenties is facing multiple charges after he allegedly sold undercover detectives crack cocaine on multiple occasions.
An investigation that began September 8 came to a head Wednesday night when Khalaf Jamal Miller, 20, who goes by "Hardhead," deliberately crashed the stolen car he was driving into cars driven by undercover detectives, according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Miller first met with undercover detectives over a month ago at a Red Roof Inn in the 6000 block of Youngerman Circle where he allegedly sold narcotics agents crack cocaine at. Three days later, on September 11, detectives arranged to buy more crack cocaine from Miller, who allegedly met up with undercover detectives at the Krystal's in the 5400 block of Blanding Boulevard, the report detailed.
Detectives called Miller again on September 16 to order more drugs, which were allegedly sold to narcotics agents by Miller.
On September 27, detectives called Miller and met up with him at the Burger King in the 7900 Blanding Boulevard. The undercover agents allegedly purchased hydrocodone pills, marijuana and more crack cocaine from Miller.
During an October 16 city wide bust operation conducted by JSO, detectives called Miller once again to buy more crack cocaine. Miller allegedly told detectives to meet him at the CVS Pharmacy in the 7700 block of Blanding Boulevard.
Miller met up with undercover detectives again to sell the crack cocaine they ordered in a stolen black, Mazda 2.
Detectives approached the car Miller was in to make an arrest and Miller allegedly crashed the stolen car into cars driven by undercover detectives. Miller also hit two parked cars and an officer as he attempted to flee the scene, before crashing into a tree in the CVS parking lot.
Miller then fled the the CVS on foot, ran across Collins Road and was tasered by an officer attempting to apprehend him. According to the report, Miller continued to resist and it took several officers to place him into handcuffs.
Miller was transported from the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue to an area hospital for treatment. Miller was absentee booked while being evaluated at UF Health Jacksonville.
During a further investigation, detectives allegedly recovered several morphine pills from the center console of the stolen car Miller was driving.
Miller is facing charges of motor vehicle theft, selling marijuana, selling cocaine, selling schedule I or II opium or derivative, fleeing/attempting to elude law enforcement officers, resisting officer with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Miller is scheduled to make his first appearance Thursday at 1 p.m.
Miller has an extensive criminal history including a February arrest for possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. Miller also has prior charges for violation of jail rules, possession of a firearm or concealed weapon by a convicted felon, cocaine possession, possession of a controlled substance, grand theft, driving without a license and carjacking that go back to 2008.
The black, four door, Mazda 2 Miller was driving was stolen from Orange Park on October 12, according to a report from the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
