ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- According to official reports,the suspect of the police chase that took place through5 counties Wednesday night is in custody.

Thomas Loncala, 47, was arrested Thursday morning after he sent police and the DEA on a chase with speeds between 30 and 100 miles per hour.

SJSOreceivednotification to assist the Flagler County Sheriff's Officewith a police pursuiton I-95north in the vicinity of LPGA Boulevard.

SJSO Communications advised the officers that the DEA was involved and the DEA was in command of the pursuit due to the suspect having felony charges.

The pursuit of a silver BMW began inOrangeCounty, and continued through Seminole, Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties starting around 10:53 p.m. Wednesday night.

According toreports, deputies deployed stopsticks at three locations on US-1. This resulted in 3 of the tires on the suspect's BMW being deflated.

The suspect continued on US-1 riding on its 3 rims and entered a construction zone in the vicinity of Matanzas Woods Parkway where the BMW almost collided with a construction vehicle and it's operator. The BMW continued north on US-1 into St. Johns County where deputies from SJSO joined the pursuit.

At the 7600 block of US-1, Flagler County deputies initiated a Precision Immobilization Technique maneuver on the BMW causing the vehicle to spin out into a ditch and roll onto its roof.

The male driver and female passenger were removed from the vehicle and secured. FHPalso responded and conducted a crash investigation.

Loncala, 47, was arrestedand charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and trafficking in methamphetamine with a firearm.

According to reports, the deputies seized over $3000 in cash, 5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a .25 caliber Raven semi-automatic handgun and 5.8 grams of cannabis from inside of the BMW.

After complaining of shoulder pains, Loncala was taken to Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. The female was not arrested and was released at the scene.
