JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Christopher Scott Perry will serve life in prison after he was convicted on multiple counts after he let a known sex offender sleep in the bed of a 9-year-old girl. That girl was later abused by the offender.

A jury convicted Perry on five counts of Sexual Battery, one count of Lewd of Lascivious Molestation, one count of Child Neglect, and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Sexual Battery Thursday evening.

He was arrested in May of 2011 when the little girl told police she was repeatedly abused by Robert Goeing Young.

Evidence was uncovered which showed Perry allowed Young to stay in his home and sleep with the child in her room between August 2010 and March 2011.

Perry was aware the sexual abuse was occurring and did nothing to stop the crime.

He is just one of five people arrested in this case. Perry's wife, Mary, pled guilty to charges of Child Neglect and Conspiracy to Sexual Battery in August.

She has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Young is expected to go to trial at the end of October.
