JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the Thursday night stabbing death of a homeless woman.

Lowanna Lynn McQuay, 46, is charged with murder in the death of Lori Wynn, 34, according to Lt. Rob Schoonover of JSO.

McQuay and Wynn were roommates who were homeless. They had just began living in a rooming house in the 1400 block of West State Street a few days ago, Schoonover said.

According to a JSO police report, "it was revealed that the victim and suspect lived together in an intimate relationship."

The two got into an argument on the rooming house's front porch and McQuay broke a beer bottle and proceeded to stab Wynn in the neck, the report stated.

Wynn fled to the bedroom of the house, where McQuay followed her and proceeded to stab Wynn several more times.

JSO was dispatched to the rooming house and Wynn was transported to Shands hospital where she died, according to the report.
