JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- You can now drop off funds at any of the 11 branches of Atlantic Coast Bank in North Florida or South Georgia. The bank is helping raise money for Operation Orion/K9s for Warriors. The non-profit matches service dogs with veterans trying to get back into life from PTSD.

Atlantic Coast Bank President and CEO John Stephens says he's been out to his branches personally to encourage his employees to create their own fundraisers appropriate to their surrounding communities.

He says he's impressed with K9s for Warriors because of its mission to help veterans and its efficient use of donations. The group pours around 87% of its donations back into its program, rather than spending a lot on advertising and internal costs.

Bank VP Julie Clark says she appreciates the idea of helping veterans. Her own sister has served overseas and she appreciates the sacrifice our military members make.

So Atlantic Coast Bank is encouraging anyone to stop by and drop off donations. You'll see the K9s for Warrior display in the lobbies. Meanwhile, the bank employees are creating their own fundraisers.

So far, the bank has almost $2,000 in donations. The goal is $10,000 or more.

Remember, the Weaver Foundation will match -- that is, double-- whatever you donate.
