Florida's tax-free shopping days for clothing and back-to-school items start at 12:01 a.m. Friday and runs until midnight Sunday.
According to the Florida Department of Revenue, during this time no Florida sales tax or local option tax will be collected on sales of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item, on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and on the first $750 of the sales price for computers and certain computer-related accessories when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use."
The first back-to-school sales tax holiday ran for seven days in was held in 1998.
The Florida Retail Federation estimates the tax break saves shoppers more than $30 million over the three days.
