JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities are looking into a Facebook post that appears to threaten the life of Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Nikolai Vitti, school officials said.
District officials learned of the post on Thursday and referred the matter to Duval Schools Police Department, a district spokesperson told our news partners at the Florida Times-Union.
Police are investigating the post to determine if there is any legitimate threat, spokeswoman Marsha Oliver told the Times-Union.
"I can confirm for you that information has been shared with our school police department," Oliver told the newspaper in an email. "We are confident that they will conduct a thorough review to determine credibility and resolution. In the meantime, we are continuing our work in serving the educational needs of Duval County students."
