JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- This week we are featuring Amber Kanbroski at St. Matthews Catholic School in Jacksonville as our Teacher of the Week.

Kanbroski teaches Pre-K and has been a teacher for three years and an aide for 10 years before that. When First Coast News visited her classroom, it was pirate day for the Pre-K classes! The students were reading about treasure and trying to find hidden treasure on the playground.

"I always feel like when my student leave this classroom, not only do I want them to be prepared academically, I just also want them to have great memories of friendships and having fun through learning," says Kanbroski.

Kanbroski says that teaching is rare profession where you can see the difference you are making with the kids every day. She says the best piece of advice she was given about teaching young kids is to keep it fun and active!

Congratulations to Amber Kanbroski at St. Matthews Catholic School for being our Teacher of the Week!
