CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A 24-year-old Clay County man busted during an undercover sting in which he's accused of trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex has been sentenced to ten years in prison, authorities said.

Andrew Steven Johnston was sentenced Wednesday to ten years in prison for traveling to meet a minor to do unlawful acts and five years for unlawful use of a two-way communication device and solicitation of a child to engage in sexual conduct, according to the State Attorney's Office. The sentences will run concurrently.

Johnston was found guilty last week of those charges Aug. 22.

Johnston was one of 16 people arrested during a joint sting operation by the Clay County Sheriff's Office and other agencies, who used undercover deputies posing as minors on the billboard website Craigslist, prosecutors said. He allegedly made plans with and drove to meet a detective he believed was a young girl.
