JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have detained multiple suspects accused of carjacking a man at gunpoint near Fort Caroline early Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers were called to Gregory Cove Apartments in the 5600 block of Edenfield Road after reports of an armed carjacking just before 4:30 a.m., police said. That's where investigators found the victim, who said a man and a woman forced him out of his 2012 Kia Soul at gunpoint.

The vehicle was later spotted heading west on the Mathews Bridge and was stopped at Liberty and 8th streets, JSO said. Multiple people inside the car were taken into custody for questioning.

A second vehicle possibly connected to the carjacking was stopped in the 3000 block of North Main Street, police said, and everyone inside that car was detained.
