JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators are looking into what triggered a shooting on the Northside Saturday night that sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police were alerted to the shooting about 8:15 p.m. after the victim was admitted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

He was sitting in a car at Mission Point Apartments at 12450 Biscayne Blvd. when he was shot, the victim told police. Police said a friend drove the victim to the hospital.

At this time, police are investigating. JSO has not released a motive or suspect in the case.
