JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville woman is recovering after she was wounded early Saturday in a drive-by shooting less than a mile away from an elementary school.
Police were called to the 4800 block of Silver Street before 3 a.m., where they found a woman who had been shot, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The victim was standing in her yard when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire and shot her, she told police. Police said she was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with injuries that are not life-threatening.
At last check, police said they do not have a description of the suspect or vehicle involved in the shooting.
