TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Police are now looking into where an FSU law professor spent his last moments before he was shot to death in his own garage.
Tallahassee police put out information asking the public if anyone saw Dan Markel before he was killed two weeks ago.
Police say finding someone who may have seen the Florida State law professor and father of two before he died could help solve the case.
They believe his killer targeted him and pulled the trigger - shooting him once in the head while he was still in his car.
"It could be that he had an interaction with somebody, a stranger, and were hoping that if that is the case that someone would come forward and let us know if they saw Mr. Markel in any areas that we released," said Dave Northway, PIO for the Tallahassee Police Department.
These are the locations police put out:
The corridor of Interstate 10 (I-10) and Thomasville Road possibly near commercial/retail establishmentsIn the area of Tharpe Street and Mission RoadThe surrounding area of the FSU Law SchoolIn the area of the Congregation Shomrei Torah Home located at 4858 Kerry Forest Parkway
Also, police are still looking for the person driving a Toyota Prius spotted in the area near the time of the shooting. Tips led them to the vehicle and say the driver's not a suspect but a person of interest.
