SANFORD, Fla. -- Police arrested eight men for allegedly soliciting the services of an undercover officer posing as a prostitute.

According to a release from the Sanford Police Department, female officers posed as prostitutes Thursday during an undercover operation. SPD said once the suspects reached an agreement with an undercover officer to trade money for sex act and other case two cigarettes for a sexual act. Both suspects were arrested.

"This sting is part of the Sanford Police Department's ongoing commitment improve the quality of life for Sanford residents by going after not only those who sell sex but those who solicit sex as well," said Chief Cecil Smith.
