Police received a call at 2:34 a.m. concerning gunshots in the 4400 block of Detaille Drive. When they arrived they found a man dead at the end of a driveway. Jacob Long, First Coast News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 16-year-old was found shot and killed, lying in a driveway in the Carver Manor neighborhood early Thursday morning.

The victim, Jonathon Rayshad Thomas, was found near the street in the 4300 block of Detaille Drive around 2:30 a.m.Detectives interviewed potential witnesses to find out if anyone saw anything or anyone leaving the scene.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Steve Zona said it is believed the shooting took place in the location where the victim was found.

Police do not believe the teen's death is connected to any other incidents.
