JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville man faces a mandatory life sentence for a drug-related murder.

A Duval County jury found 25-year-old Justin Kyle Footman guilty Wednesday of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Authorities say Footman and two other men planned to steal marijuana from 19-year-old Tommy Girarde McDowell Jr.'s cousin at Summer Oak apartments in 2012.

The Florida Times Union reports that Footman shot McDowell in the chest, took the drugs and then ran away.
