JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 16-year-old was arrested Friday after police say he sexually battered a woman inside her home.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the incident happened just before 10 a.m. in the area of N. Edgewood and Commonwealth Avenue.

After returning home, police say the victim walked into her bedroom and was grabbed by the suspect and put in a choke hold from behind.

He then punched the victim in the head and sexually battered her. The suspect fled after taking the victim's cell phone.

The victim was able to climb out of a bedroom window and run to a neighbor's house to call police.

Officer J.M. Faulker noticed a person running down a nearby road that fit the suspect's description and placed him into custody.

The victim identified the suspect. JSO charged him with burglary and sexual battery.

The suspect was a reported missing person.
