SANFORD, Fla. (AP) - A Central Florida couple will face child neglect charges after an 8-month-old boy was left home alone. Orlando television stations report that a relative who lives nearby found the infant sleeping in a crib Saturday night.

She told authorities the front door of the Sanford home was open and she found the boy inside. Police found the mother walking along a road on Sunday morning.

The father was found sleeping in a residence in Casselberry. Investigators say he told them he'd been drinking at a bar until 3 a.m. Sunday.

The parents were booked into Seminole County Jail and are expected to go before a judge on Monday.

The child was placed with the Department of Children and Families. A shelter hearing is planned to determine who should have custody.
