JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A shooting triggered by an argument sent a Jacksonville man to the hospital just after noon on Saturday, police said.
A group of people were hanging out in the 800 block of Franklin Street when an argument broke out about 12:08 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. That's when, police said, a man in his 30's or 40's was shot in the upper body.
The victim was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries, said Lt. Brett Sharp with the Sheriff's Office. Sharp said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and the victim is undergoing surgery.
At this time, police have not said how many shooters there were or exactly how many shots were fired.
So far, investigators have not identified any suspects in the case.
