JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police responded to an attempted robbery at an Arlington gas station early Monday morning.

An unknown suspect allegedly went into the Gate Gas station in the 7200 block of Merrill Road dressed entirely in black armed with a hand gun around 3:50 a.m., according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The masked suspect then pointed his gun at a clerk and demanded money from the register, the report detailed. The clerk refused and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was wearing black pants, a black hoodie and gloves during the robbery attempt and is described as 6 feet tall with a slender build.
