JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the Turtle Creek area of the Northside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened in the 11500 block of Manatee Drive. Police said the unidentified victim appeared to have been shot in the arm while sitting in a vehicle.
The victim, along with another occupant, drove to the River Oaks apartments located in the 11200 block of Harts Road and called police. He was taken to UF Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators said the victim knows the suspect and even though witnesses are being cooperative, police haven't found the suspect. Police said the shooting does not appear to be drug related.
JEA crews will also be in the area near the shooting replacing a transformer. The transformer is in the yard of the home where police say the shooting occurred.
Gerri Boyce with JEA said a vehicle hit that transformer around 3:45 a.m. Thursday morning which knocked out power to 46 customers. Those customers will have their power restored once the transformer is replaced.
