JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Christopher Watts, 29, allegedly broke into an elderly woman's home armed with a sawed off shotgun and attempted to rape her, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
In addition to the attempted sexual battery, officers said Watts demanded the woman's hearing aids, the rings on her hands and money.
The incident happened in the area of Plymouth Street and Lake Shore Blvd. on April 23.That is when police said Watts made the victim lie on the floor and take off her clothes, telling her he would shoot her if she did not comply with his demands. The victim did not know the suspect, according to JSO.
Watts was arrested and charged with attempted armed sexual battery, armed burglary and attempted armed sexual battery.
Investigators are still trying to find the items they believe Watts stole from the alleged victim.
