ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Shots were fired after an attempted home invasion Thursday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

A 911 caller from inside a home on Coral Reef Drive reported that two armed men tried to enter the residence. Sometime during the call, the 911 dispatcher reportedly heard gunfire in the background.

When deputies arrived, they found a suspect displaying a gun inside a car located in the home's driveway.

"Our 911 call taker could hear gunshots. When we arrived we found a black male in a car, and he had a gun on him," Orange County Sheriff's Office Lt. Paul Hopkins told WESH.
Officials were able to take that suspect into custody and began searching for a second suspect they said ran away from the scene.

They told WESH everyone inside the home was hiding in a bathroom, and said it took 30 minutes to get them out.

According to investigators, they found guns and drugs inside the home.
