JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 59-year-old man was convicted Wednesday for an April 2013 attempted murder, which was caught on surveillance camera.

Leon Bullard faces at least 53 years in prison for the charges of attempted murder in the second degree, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also faces an additional 17 years of exposure.

In the incident, Bullard and the victim, who were friends at the time, got into a verbal argument over money, according to a State Attorney's press release. When the victim was walking away, Bullard shot the victim in the shoulder and then began to beat the victim with the pistol.

Bullard is scheduled to be sentenced the week of May 5.
