Hardee County, Florida -- Back on March 20th, the dog was found severely burned outside her owner's home. She was rescued, and taken to the Hardee County Animal Rescue, where she was given the name "Hope". She has since been moved to the intensive care unit at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa, where she continues her recovery.

Hope's owner, 67-year-old Larry Wallace, wasn't initially charged in the case. He claimed he didn't know what happened, but after weeks of investigation, he's been arrested and charged with one county of animal cruelty and one count of arson.

People interested in donating to Hope's care should make donations directly to HART, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps animals, via their website. Click here to help.
