JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man accused of kidnapping and raping a woman in October is in court this week.
Alvin Leon Smith, 47, is on trial for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman he forced into his home after running into her at a store on McDuff Avenue, according a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and court records.
The victim was riding her bike home from the McDuff Ave. store when Smith allegedly approached the victim, grabbed her bike, forced her into his home and threatened the victim with a knife. Smith led the victim to his bedroom, where he allegedly raped the victim multiple times. The victim told police Smith would stop for a while and lock her in a closet while he did drugs.
Smith has been held in Duval County Jail on a $1,000,006 bond since October 5, according to the JSO records.
