BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Jermaine Javon Thomas was arrested around 6 p.m. Wednesday and charged with the murder of 33-year-old Casey Nicole Mitchell, according to a release from Glynn County Police Capt. Marissa Tindale.

Police discovered the body of Mitchell after being dispatched to a home in reference to a shooting Tuesday.

Investigators believe that a domestic dispute took place at the residence located in the 200 block of Blythe Island Drive, between Mitchell and Thomas, 37, according to the Glynn County Police Department.

GCPD said Thomas fled the area prior to the officers' arrival.

Thomas was driving a 2001 burgundy Ford Expedition with tinted windows, Georgia tag number PRY 7973.

The Glynn County Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in recovering the vehicle.
