PALATKA, Fla. -- Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 28-year-old Antonio L. Mulberry.

Mulberry's body was discovered over the weekend on Augusta Road at approximately 12:35 a.m. Sunday.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that Rebecca Hicks, 21, and 27-year-old Brandon Nunley had been taken into custody in connection with the killing of Mulberry, according to a release from the PCSO.

Investigators believe Mulberry's death was the result of a drug deal that turned into an attempted robbery.

Hicks and Nunley were transported to the Putnam County Jail were they were both charged with homicide and robbery. They are currently being held without bond.

"Fast action, quick thinking and sound detective work led to the arrest of these violent criminals. I am very proud of all of the detectives and staff involved in bringing this murder investigation to a swift conclusion", said Sheriff Jeff Hardy.

On Thursday the PCSO arrested Eric Woodrum, 25, in connection with the shooting death.

Woodrum was arrested and booked on charges of accessory after the fact to first degree murder and destroying evidence. Woodrum is being held without bond.
