PALM COAST, Fla. – A sergeant with the Bunnell Police Department is facing multiple charges related to child pornography.

Michael Gerard Stavris, 30, was arrested on a felony warrant Tuesday night after a long term investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

According to the felony warrant issued March 25, Stavris allegedly created a fictitious profile on Facebook profile of a 16-year-old girl on November 25, 2012. The profile was allegedly using the profile to contact teenage boys and request nude pictures.

Investigators allegedly found photos of a penis posted to the fictitious Facebook profile, as well as evidence Stavris was pretending to be a student. Messages on the account requested photos of teen boys pleasuring themselves and solicitations to meet up behind a school for oral sex.

Stavris was an active duty member of the Bunnell Police Department when arrested and is facing two counts of computer pornography and child exploitation prevention act and one count of criminal use of personal identification information.

Stavris was released Tuesday night after posting bond $125,000 bond.
