Police are seeking the public's help identifying a battery suspect. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are seeking the public's help identifying a battery suspect.

The incident occurred Monday at 9:30 p.m. at the Quickway Food Mart located at 770 block of North McDuff Avenue, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

As the victim exited the store, an unidentified man approached her from behind and began to punch her, according to police. The suspect left the store on foot with another man that had been standing in front of the store when the victim arrived.

The female victim suffered minor bruising in the area of her left eye.

The incident was captured on store surveillance video and appears unprovoked, according to JSO.

The suspect is described as 25-years-old, 5-feet-11 inches and weighs about 200 pounds with unkempt hair. The suspect was wearing all black clothing at the time of the battery.
