JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The brothers who killed 28-year-old Jeffrey May in April 2012 were found guilty of first degree murder and have both been sentenced to life in prison, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Terrell Jamar Reed, 24, and his brother, Tevin Jamel Reed, met with May to buy drugs.

During the drug deal, the brothers pulled out guns and robbed May. As May struggled to fight back, he was shot in the back of the neck.

When police arrived at the crime scene, they found blood and other evidence, but not May's body.

Detectives later found May's body in the Trout River.

Jamar was found guilty of first degree felony murder, attempted armed robbery and tampering with evidence.

Tevin Reed was convicted last year on charges of murder in the first degree, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. He was sentenced to life in prison without the hope of parole.

Terrell Reed was sentenced to life in prison on April 17, 2014.

Assistant State Attorneys David Thompson and Pam Hazel prosecuted these cases.
