GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Police have fatally shot a man suspected of stabbing a staff member on the University of Florida's campus.

Authorities say 28-year-old Michael Cravey approached the university staff member and his wife outside of Leigh Hall Monday morning. After a brief conversation, the suspect stabbed the man and fled the area. Police do not believe the men knew each other previously.

The Gainesville Sun (
