JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man police say is in his 20s was transported to the hospital after he received multiple gun shots to the torso and leg early Sunday evening on the northside.
Police say the victim is in non-life-threatening condition.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sergeant Charles Apelgren said around 5:55 p.m. police officers were dispatched to Myrtle Avenue and 19th street in reference to a shooting.
Apelgren said the victim was standing outside of a residence near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Martin Luther King Junior Parkway when he was shot.
There is currently no description on the suspect or suspects.
"We secured the scene and detectives are coming. They went to the hospital to talk to the victim and they are working on that," said Sgt. Apelgren.
Multiple markers were placed on the ground in the front yard of the residence.
Myrtle Avenue was closed from MLK Parkway to 18th street.
