Multi-Agency joint task force operation arrests 17 for narcotics and firearms violations

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives made 17 arrests Thursday afternoon following a 14 month investigation.

The investigation focused on suspects allegedly involved in a violent, armed narcotics trafficking group that operated out of Lake City and Columbia County, according to a release from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. During the investigation, multiple undercover purchases of illegal firearms and narcotics were made. Investigators also seized large quantities of drugs, firearms and money during the investigation.

The operation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
