JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a gunfight that left one man dead.

JSO responded to multiple shots fired in the 1400 block of West 6th Street on Wednesday night around 6 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive black male in his 20s-30s in the front yard of a home, according to Sgt. T.K. Waters.

The man was transported by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department to Shands, where he later died. There are no suspects yet and JSO is still questioning neighbors.

Investigators do not yet have a motive for the incident. No one else was hurt, Waters said.

After the shooting, several helicopters circled overhead to ensure that the area was secure.
