PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A 16-year-old Putnam County girl who was reported missing Friday is back with family after the car she was in crashed while fleeing from police.

Authorities in Putnam County asked for the community's help searching for 16-year-old Lexi Marshall who went missing July 4.

Marshall ran away from home Friday with Bart Shoenberger, 23, her mother Becky said.

After going missing for two days, Glynn County Police say Marshall was spotted at a Walmart in Brunswick. When police arrived they found her with Shoenberger, but the two fled in a stolen Honda.

Police pursued for several miles and Shoenberger ended up crashing through the gates of a neighborhood and into a ditch. He took off on foot, but was eventually apprehended, according to police.

Marshall was injured in the crash. She suffered a broken ankle, leg, nose and teeth in the crash, her mother said.

Shoenberger faces several charges including interstate interference with custody. He was released from prison last year.
