SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- A Snellville husband and wife were arrested for keeping their home in such deplorable conditions that their children were removed by the state.

Alan Gregory Tate, 52, and Jacqueline Marie Tate, 46, were charged with first-degree cruelty to children. Bail was set at $5,700 each.children were removed by the state.

Snellville Police Capt. C.G. Roberts said DFCS removed the couple's two sons, ages 17 and 15, from the house in the 1800 block of Pharrs Road. The teens were released to their grandparents' custody.
